Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
BJP MP Khagen Murmu, contesting for Bengal's North Malda constituency, stirred controversy after a viral photo captured him kissing a woman on the cheek during a campaign visit to Srihipur village in Chanchal. Reacting swiftly, Trinamool Congress condemned the act, labeling it as indicative of BJP's "anti-women" stance. Dulal Sarkar, the Trinamool Congress's Malda district vice president, joined the criticism, questioning BJP's integrity.
In response, BJP MP Khagen Murmu defended his actions, asserting that the woman in question is akin to "his child." Dismissing the backlash as a politically motivated scheme by his opponents, Murmu emphasized the innocent nature of the gesture. The woman involved also came forward, supporting Murmu and likening his affectionate gesture to that of a father-daughter relationship.
If you cannot believe what you just saw, let us clarify. Yes, this is BJP MP & Maldaha Uttar candidate @khagen_murmu kissing a woman on his own accord on his campaign trail.
